Montgomery College offers an exciting array of noncredit online courses from Ed2Go. These are open to everyone. There are hundreds of classes offered each month. Popular courses include Office Skills, Accounting Fundamentals, Project Management, Survival Skills for Teachers, Explore a Career Series of Classes, and Test Prep Classes. Accounting Fundamentals with Ed2Go  

If you're interested in increasing your financial awareness while also gaining a marketable skill, this course is for you. You'll learn the basics of double-entry bookkeeping, as well as how to analyze and record financial transactions. You'll get hands-on experience with handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll procedures, sales taxes, and various common banking activities. We'll cover all the bases, from writing checks to preparing an income statement and closing out accounts at the end of each fiscal period. Whether you're a sole proprietor looking to manage your business finances or you simply want to gain an understanding of accounting basics for career advancement or for personal use, this course will give you a solid foundation in financial matters.

How Do I Enroll, Register, and Pay for an Ed2Go Noncredit Online Course?

Enrolling and paying for a noncredit online course is a two step process. Step One: Select and ENROLL in the course with Ed2Go, Step Two: REGISTER & PAY Montgomery College for the course. 

Step 1. Browse the Ed2Go list of courses to find the one you want.

Step 2 . Then click on the Enroll Now button.

  1. Select a Start Date  
  2. Write down the Start Date, Title, Price, and Course Section Number. You will need the class information for the M.C. registration / payment form later. Press the Continue Button.
  3. Sign In Options:
    1. Returning Students use your Ed2Go user name and password to Login.
    2. New Students: Follow instructions to Create an Account and a user name and password
  4. Payment Options:
    1. Purchase Course: Purchase course via other accepted payment methods. This will lead you to instructions on how to pay via Montgomery College's secure Payment / Registration Form  and follow directions for making a payment. Out of state fees may apply. Payments are charged to your credit card upon receipt of your registration form. Keep a copy for your records.
    2. Already Paid, select this option if you want to pay later. You have the option of trying out  the Ed2Go online course for up to seven days before paying. To pay for the course use the   Secure MC Payment /Registration form
    3. Alternate payment option for Employers/Employees. A printable registration form is available for Employers or Employees who cannot use the online credit card option (some government offices have firewalls which prevent this), use pre-approved payment vouchers, or must pay by check. Montgomery College employees may use EAP to pay for these courses. These registrations may be faxed to 240-567-7871, or mailed to Montgomery College, 12 South Summit Ave. 4th Floor, Customer Service, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877.   5. Receipt. Print Order Confirmation Details for your records.
  6. Orientation. On the bottom right of the Order Confirmation Details there is a link to Ed2Go Orientation.

Step 3. You will receive an informational email from Janet Lane at Montgomery College.

Step 4. You will receive an email from Customer Service when your payment has been processed, and your registration is complete.

What type of courses are offered?
Most of the Ed2Go online courses are six weeks in length and are in a wide range of topics from Office Skills, Computer Skills, Survival Skills for Teachers,Project Management, Web Page Design, Personal Enrichment, Health Care Continuing Education, Career Skills and more. These courses offer two lessons a week for a total of 12 lessons. If you are not sure an online course is right for you, you have the option of trying the class for up to seven days before paying for the class. Payment / Registration Form

What are Ed2Go Certificates?

Do you want something more than just a transcript to show your employer? Select Ed2Go course series are eligible for a Montgomery College, Workforce Development & Continuing Education, Noncredit, Online Course Series Certificate. Take a series of courses in your field of study, complete and pass all the courses in the series, and you are eligible for a Certificate. Learn more about the Ed2Go Online Certificate opportunities.

Do you need PDUs? Professional Development Units?

Project Management Institute's (PMI)® has approved 21 courses to be eligible for PDUs. These course align with PMI has a list of courses that qualify for PDUs. If you pass the final exam for the class you will be granted PDUs for those classes that qualify. See the listing of PDU eligible courses.
