Nonprofit Administration Boot Camp, for Entry-Level Administrative Positions. ILL-674
This course is for students who are employed with nonprofit organizations in entry-level administrative positions, as well as those who are exploring this section as a career or volunteering opportunity. The nonprofit sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S. It provides wide-ranging opportunities for employment, volunteering, and professional growth This course is designed to introduce students to the world of nonprofit organizations. Topics include the role of nonprofit organizations including their missions, organizational structures, funding, entrepreneurship, and culture. Topics also include an introduction to grant proposal writing and project/event management organization skills. You will hear from leaders of various nonprofit organizations in our community. Nonprofit Administration Boot Camp, for Entry-Level Managers. ILL-642
This course is designed to help prepare individuals for entry-level supervisory roles in nonprofit organizations. The curriculum includes a theoretical foundation and practical skills in supervision, grant proposal writing, and marketing. Additional topics to be examined are entrepreneurship, nonprofit ethics, and an overview of the field. Prerequisites: Nonprofit Administration Boot Camp (ILL641) or equivalent experience. The Montgomery College Nonprofit Leadership Institute invites applicants for the 2014 Nonprofit Management Boot Camp. The Boot Camp is designed to challenge and cultivate the skills of mid-level administrators ( program directors and program managers) and those new to management. It is ideal for those individuals who find themselves managing personnel and programs and who desire to participate in a professional development program. Participants will network with peers and stay in touch between sessions. Expert trainers and facilitators will deliver an effective, intense, and interactive program.
