Inclement Weather Policy, and Emergency Notifications
Montgomery College Alert!
Montgomery College has teamed up with Montgomery County's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and its Alert Montgomery emergency notification system to send text and e-mail messages to the College community, in the event of delays, closures, or emergencies at the College. To receive future messages, register online through the County's Alert Montgomery Web site. Sign Up (https://alert.montgomerycountymd.gov/register.php ) for text and e-mail messages in the event of Montgomery College delays, closures, or emergencies.
Those registering for emergency notification will be requested to give their name, e-mail address and phone number, and then to choose the Montgomery College ALERT option. Please note that while signing up for Montgomery College ALERT is free of charge, wireless carriers may charge users a fee to receive text messages.
Web, Radio, and TV notifications
Check the College's Web site at www.montgomerycollege.edu. Any closures or delays, due to inclement weather or other emergencies, will be announced on the home page.
Call the College's main phone number, 240-567-5000, to hear an updated message, in the event of closures or delays.
Tune in to area radio or television stations, including Montgomery College Television, cable channel 10, in Montgomery County. Dozens of commercial radio and TV stations are also notified. Among the stations with most frequent updates are: Television - NBC Channel 4 WRC; Fox Channel 5 WTTG; Channel 7 WJLA; Channel 9 WUSA; and cable News Channel 8; Radio - WTOP 103.5FM, WMAL 105.9FM, WAMU 88.5FM.
If the school or campus opening is delayed by more than half time of your class, do not report to class, otherwise come to class. Example: Class meets on Saturday 9:30am - 12:30pm the campus opens at 11:00, come to class for the remaining 1.5 hours. If an opening is delayed until 11:30am, do not report to class.

NOTE: Montgomery College and Montgomery County Public Schools DO NOT always follow the same inclement weather policy. If you have a class that is being held in a local high school or middle school please check the MCPS emergency notifications as they may differ from Montgomery College.
