Montgomery College’s Workforce Development & Continuing Education Department has been designated as a Global Registered Education Provider by the Project Management Institute. Now listed as a premier resource for project management training and development in Maryland, WD&CE offer employees the professional certification needed to compete in today’s fast-paced and highly technical workplace. Courses may be taken as open enrollment for individuals or contract training classes for businesses seeking the nationally and internationally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification .
Montgomery College offers a series of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification exam preparation classes and PMP® certification exam preparation classes. We offer two certification tracks:
Project Management Professional (PMP) ® Certification: This course thoroughly prepares students for the Project Management Institute (PMI)® certification exam. It is designed for experienced project managers who want to increase their skills and apply a standards-based approach to project management. Upon completion of this course, students may apply to take the PMP® Certification exam.
Prerequisites: Successful Project Management (AMA035) and Project Management Essentials and Best Practices (PMC-001) or previous project management education and a minimum of 4500 hours (3 years) project work experience.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) ® Certification: This course is designed for entry-level to senior members of a project team who contribute specialized skills such as scheduling, logistics, or cost estimating. This credential signifies that the individual has the knowledge of the principles and terminology of the A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) Fourth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc. 2008. Prerequisite: Successful Project Management (AMA035) and Project Management Essentials and Best Practices (PMC-001).
We also offer courses to fulfill the required continuing education courses or PDUs for individuals who have the PMP®.
