Connected DataProtector Scheduling

You probably don’t pay much attention to Connected running on your computer. Few people do, but the program is actually one of your best “friends.” Connected DataProtector, by Iron Mountain, backs up the files on your desktop computer every day, so that you don’t have to worry about losing files. It’s great in emergencies, because Computer Support can restore files and have you back in action much more quickly. Connected is installed on all administrative computers.

“Timing is everything” and you may find that the backup sometimes starts when you least want it. Schedule it! The program icon is found in your Windows system tray at the bottom right of your monitor screen, near the system clock. Connected IconConnected Scheduling

  1. Open Connected DataProtector by clicking on the icon.
  2. On the menu bar, select Options/Backup Schedule to open the Schedule Settings dialog box.
  3. Examine each option. Unchanged, the backup is set to prompt for a backup each time Windows exits. You can change the schedule to your choice of days of the week, time range, and backup after a specified number of days. If you are in the habit of leaving your computer on overnight, you can set the backup to run then.
  4. When satisfied, click the OK button and then close the application.
