Mango Languages - Mango (UL)  Help (Mango Support)
Includes over 40 "basic" and "complete" introductions to foreign languages including Spanish, French, Pashto, Urdu, Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese as well as 15 ESL courses taught in native languages.  You can even learn Pirate if you are so inclined.  It is a simple, easy-to-use and follow introduction to language acquisition.

MLA Directory of Periodicals EBSCO (UL) Help available at site
The MLA Directory of Periodicals offers detailed information on over 5,500 journals, with 4,400 currently indexed in the International Bibliography.
The detailed entries include editorial contact information, as well as frequency, circulation, subscription prices and submission guidelines.

MLA International Bibliography  - Modern Language Association International Bibliography EBSCO (UL) Help available at stie
MLA International Bibliography offers a detailed bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations. Produced by the Modern Language
Association, the electronic version of the bibliography dates back to the 1920's and contains over 2.3 million citations from more than 4,400
journals & series and 1,000 book publishers. The indexed materials coverage is international and includes almost 60 titles from J-STOR’s
language and literature collection as well as links to full text.  Also includes a link to the MLA Directory of Periodicals.

NoodleTools - NoodleTools, Inc. (UL)  Help:  Tutorials & guide   Knowledge base   Help desk 
NoodleTools is a Web-based software program that teaches and takes users step-by-step through some of the research process but
especially takes users through the creation of citations.  Each user must create a "personal folder" (i.e., select a personal ID and password)
by clicking the "Create a Personal ID" button on the login screen.

Ovid Nursing Database - Ovid (UL)
Provides full text for 55 core nursing journals such as AJN, the American Journal of Nursing, and more.  Users can also switch over to the larger database by clicking on the Change link to access and search the index and abstracts.

World Religions  ABC-CLIO (UL)  Help
World Religions:  Belief, Culture, and Controversy covers all of the world's major religions as well as "traditional" and "new" religions, 
"esoteric" beliefs and a section on "unbelief".

ANATOMY.TV - StatRef (5 users) Help available at site
Anatomy.TV is a suite of 3D interactive models of human anatomy. Intuitive controls allow the user to zoom, rotate and peel away layers to educate and communicate with an ease and directness that was never possible with print. A wealth of supporting media, MRIs, X-rays, live-action movies and animations are also included to supplement Anatomy.tv's high resolution, computer-generated models.

Nurse Educator (2 simultaneous users) - OVID
"Original articles cover the practice and theory of nursing education, including curriculum and program development, educational philosophy, teaching methods, instructional materials, testing and measurement, and administration. Peer-reviewed articles outline the trends that are shaping the future of nursing education and provide practical guidance on current issues" (OVID About this Journal).  

Nursing (2 simultaneous users) - OVID
This monthly publication "is the journal of choice among practicing nurses. Known for its easy-to-read style and commitment to quality, it keeps nurses up-to-date on peer-reviewed evidence-based practice about key clinical topics, including cardiac and respiratory care, new drugs, new treatments, and nursing techniques. Clinical illustrations, photographs, and charts help clarify complex clinical concepts. The journal also covers legal and ethical issues, professional trends and controversies as well as stories written by nurses about their most memorable professional experiences" (OVID, About this Journal). 

Scientific American - Nature Publishing Group (UL)
While not a new subscription, we have added the 1910-1947 collection which "brings together 38 years of historic advancements in science, technology and medicine with over 38,300 articles".

World Almanac Online - Facts on File (UL)
The online version of the famous World Almanac "provides access to authoritative, essential statistics on hundreds of topics in a searchable online format with a wealth of content not available anywhere else" (About, Facts on File).

Films on Demand - Films Media Group (UL)  Tutorials and Documentation available at site
This collection consists of 5,600+ streaming Web-based video titles in the Academic Master collections. Videos come from a variety of publishers including Films for the Humanities & Sciences, PBS, Film Board of Canada, BBC, and many, many more. Titles are continuously added to this collection.

GREENR - Cengage Gale (UL)  Help available at site
For environmental topics, GREENR offers "an authoritative, intuitive resource that combines news, unique commentary, audio, video, primary source documents, images, conference reports, statistics and more."

Scientific American - Nature Publishing Group (UL)
"Founded in 1845, Scientific American is the oldest continuously published magazine in the US and the leading authoritative publication for science in the general media." Our subscription includes full text access to all current issues (1993 on) as well as full text access to articles from the archives from 1948 to 1992.

Nursing Research Journal - OVID (2 simultaneous users)
This journal "offers more depth, more detail, more of what today's nurses demand. Nursing Research covers key issues, including health promotion, human responses to illness, acute care nursing research, symptom management, cost-effectiveness, vulnerable populations, health services, and community-based nursing studies."

Key to Title Information

  • UL stands for an unlimited number of users.
  • Databases with a limited number of users show the number of simultaneous users in parentheses ( ) after the title.
  • MDL stands for a Maryland Digital Library consortial purchase.
  • Publishers' names are listed after the database or ebook name.
  • Title lists, if available, are provided for each periodical database.
  • Tutorials or other useful quick guides are provided if available.
