International & Multicultural Student Center, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus
In 1999, Montgomery College created the center within the counseling department of each campus to develop and coordinate programs and services for its increasing international and multicultural student population. With more than one third of its students being non-US citizens, the Takoma Park /Silver Spring campus serves the most diverse student body of the college.
Created in 2001 by Dr. Harold Barber, Global Connections provides a platform to address the social, academic and cultural interests of multicultural students and to celebrate diversity at the college.
International Buddy Program
The International Buddy Program is a college-wide program that is designed to provide a mentoring relationship between current international students and Montgomery College alumni.
