Automotive Technology training prepares students for entry into and advancement in the automotive service and repair industry. Students can earn an associate of applied science degree or certificates of completion in specialty areas. All coursework includes classroom theory and practical, hands-on training.
Employment opportunities exist in new vehicle dealerships, independent automobile repair facilities, vehicle fleet maintenance and government agencies. In addition, students may pursue opportunities in performance, upfitter and after-market installer shops. Automotive coursework also prepares students for the industry recognized National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) technician certification exams.
