                                                                    Montgomery College TIDES Website

Welcome to the Montgomery College Teaching to Increase Diversity and Equity (TIDES) website!  In 2014, Montgomery College was one of twenty nationwide colleges and universities awarded a TIDES Grant by the American Association of Colleges and Universities.  The overall goal of TIDES was “to increase the learning outcomes and retention of students historically underrepresented in the computer/information sciences and related STEM disciplines.” The main goal of the MC TIDES Grant project is to help faculty apply culturally responsive teaching (CRT) in their courses to increase student success.

To accomplish this goal, the MC TIDES team has and continues to engage in various activities.  It collaborates with faculty and the college’s professional development division, E-Learning, Innovation and Teaching Excellence (ELITE), to gather, create and distribute CRT-related resources.  It also has and continues to give presentations and conduct workshops at MC, regional and national conferences.  Please click the links on the left to learn more about the MC TIDES project and to utilize and contribute to its CRT resources to help you and other faculty apply CRT to help improve student success and retention.
