Nursing Program

Nursing Information Sessions

Nursing Information Sessions are scheduled throughout the year to provide students with critical information about our Nursing Program. The information presented covers a variety of topics, including how to become competitive for admission, the application process, and the Nursing Curriculum. The sessions are held at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus on the first Monday of each month (exceptions will be noted), begin promptly at 4:00 pm, and last for approximately one hour.

The Coordinator of the Nursing Program, Professor Dianna Matthews, conducts these sessions and is available for general questions.  The Information Sessions are not substitutes for individual counseling on application and admission the Nursing Program. We strongly encourage prospective students to attend a session and, if necessary, schedule an appointment for advising with Maureen Mirowski, (240-567-5810) Health Sciences Counselor at the Takoma Park / Silver Spring campus.

Please check with the Admissions and Records Office for additional dates of Open Houses and Information Sessions held at other campuses.

All students interested in the Nursing Program are strongly encouraged to attend one of these Information Sessions before submitting their Health Sciences application. Unless otherwise indicated, all Information Sessions are held in the same location.
We also have a the Information Session packet of materials available for download and print out:
