If you want to become a teacher—whether in preschool, high school, or anywhere in between— we are here to help you reach your goals. For those in early childhood settings, we offer courses for certificates and the Child Development Associate credential, courses to expand your career pathway, and an Associate of Applied Science degree accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Students just beginning coursework toward teacher certification in Maryland will want to review our Associate of Arts in Teaching programs, available in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education in a variety of fields. These degrees provide a clear transfer pathway to the education programs at any college or university in Maryland.
If you already have a bachelor's degree and are interested in teacher certification at the secondary level in a high-need area such as mathematics, check out the AlternativeCertification for Effective Teachers Program. The School of Education also offers a variety of courses which apply toward Maryland certification via transcript evaluation.
