Montgomery College Libraries Tutorials and Quizzes

Welcome! These tutorials cover a variety of research skills which will be useful to you in your college career. They are designed to allow you to learn on your own, at your own pace, and at any time that is convenient to you. The quizzes and assessments will help you measure your progress and understanding. If your professor assigned the tutorial and quiz to you for course credit, be sure to include his/her email address when you complete the quiz.

Academic Integrity & Citing Sources

  • Academic Integrity & Avoiding Plagiarism (formerly Plagiarism: What It Is & How to Avoid It)
    Discusses what academic integrity is. Provides strategies for using sources well, to avoid plagiarism. (With quiz.)
  • APA Citations 
    Introduces the guidelines for creating APA citations for the Reference list, with some explanation of in-text citations. (With quiz.)
  • MLA Citations (Works Cited List - 8th edition; 2016) 
    Introduces the guidelines for creating MLA citations for the Works Cited list, with some explanation of in-text citations. This tutorial covers the guidelines from the MLA 8th edition (2016). (With quiz.)
  • MLA Citations (In-Text Citations - 7th & 8th editions) (has audio)
    Brief video that reviews guidelines for creating in-text citations in the MLA style (7th edition, 2009 and 8th edition, 2016). (No quiz.)
