Invitation to attend the “Introduction to Open Educational Resources” Workshop, October 21, 9am-3pm

University System of Maryland Pact Logo
Are you concerned about the costs of textbooks for students and improving access to learning materials in your course? Would you like the opportunity to fit the textbook you use to your course instead of being forced to make your course fit the textbook? Are you interested in having more control and choice over the materials you require in your classes? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please consider joining us for an Introduction to Open Educational Resources.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to collaborate with national experts from Lumen Learning and your USM colleagues to learn more about what open educational resources (OER) are all about and debunk some of the myths. For example, are you aware that a growing number of OER are peer reviewed using the same process that publishers use? And that many open texts can be printed at a nominal cost for students who prefer a paper-based version? [ CLICK HERE TO VIEW WORKSHOP FLYER]
