Auditions

How to Audition:

  1. Read the Program Requirements for the Mascot and/or Mascot Assistant
  2.  Fill out an application (you will bring the completed application to the first audition)
  3. Send an email to: raptor@montgomerycollege.edu to schedule a day and time for your audition. Be sure to put ‘Mascot Audition’ in the subject line.

The Audition Process

Mascots ( a.k.a. The Raptor)

The mascot selection process will include an audition and a personal interview. Applicants must present their own 1-2 minute skit, with music provided by the selection committee to give the selection committee an idea of what you would bring to being the Raptor mascot.  The tryout will include an interview with members of the selection committee.

All finalists will be required to perform in the costume. It is suggested you wear a t-shirt, athletic shorts, and athletic shoes under the costume for the performance. If your hair is long, it must be put up and secured. For your own safety, no jewelry may be worn while in costume.

Mascot Assistants (a.k.a. The Raptor Squad)

The mascot assistant selection process will include an audition and personal interview. Applicants must present their ideas for promoting fan interaction with the mascot to give the selection committee an idea of what you would bring to the Raptor mascot team.

Each participant is required to have a general physical completed, and be in good health upon acceptance as a mascot.

Auditions and interviews will be held on the Rockville Campus. All portions of the Mascot Program tryouts are closed to the public. Only applicants and selection committee members will be allowed at the auditions.

Mascots and assistants will be required to attend a formal training session with a mascot professional prior to performing as the College mascot.

This is a paid opportunity with a semester long commitment
