Montgomery College Alumni Association Scholarship
Socrates and Anne Koutsoutis Statue of Liberty Scholarship

(Applications are due June 30 for the next Academic Year.)

The Montgomery College Alumni Association offers two annual scholarships for the sons and daughters or mothers and fathers of alumni ($2,000 each for one academic year).  The Association also administers the Socrates and Anne Koutsoutis Statue of Liberty Endowed Scholarship for first-year students.


To qualify for the Alumni Association Scholarship, you must:
To qualify for the Statue of Liberty Scholarship, you must:
  • Be the son, daughter, mother or father of an MC alumnus/a (graduate or 50 credit hours)
  • Be a high school graduate or current MC student with a 2.5 or higher grade point average.
  • Enroll as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more) for the upcoming Fall semester.
  • Have filed a completed Montgomery College Foundation Scholarship Application and high school transcript, where necessary, with the Montgomery College Office of Financial Aid. This application cannot be considered without those documents.
  • Financial need may be taken into consideration.
  • Be a high school graduate with a 2.5 or higher grade point average.
  • Be a first semester/year student at MC.
  • Enroll as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more) for the upcoming Fall semester.
  • Submit a brief (one page) essay on the subject, "What Freedom Means to Me." (Dictionary definitions will not be considered.)
  • Have filed a completed Montgomery College Foundation Scholarship Application and high school transcript, where necessary, with the
  • Montgomery College Office of Financial Aid. This application cannot be considered without those documents.
  • Financial need may be taken into consideration.
The following expectations apply to recipients of all scholarships administered by the Alumni Association:
  • Attendance at an Alumni Association meeting.
  • Write a letter of acknowledgment to the Alumni Association, delivered to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Attendance at the College’s Scholarship Luncheon.
  • Join the Montgomery College Alumni Association upon completion of studies at MC.
