Dr. Jorinde van den Berg earned her teacher’s certification and a BA in French and English from the Katholieke Leergangen Tilburg, as well as her MA in English Language, ESL, and Literature from the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen, both in the Netherlands.
She earned her Ph.D. in English Literature from the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She taught at FCC, Hood College, and UMBC before being hired as an English / AELP professor at Montgomery College, Germantown in 1999. Since then, she has been AELP coordinator from 2005 till 2008 and Chair of the Communications Department from 2007 till 2011.
Jorinde (pronounced / you’re in da/) is a global citizen and an eternal optimist, who looks forward to collaborating with colleagues as well as students to turn Montgomery College’s mission statement into a reality.
