SECU - University System of Maryland (USM) Scholarship

 The SECU-USM will award for 2013-14 a total of ten $5,000 scholarships to graduates of Maryland’s Community Colleges. These one - time awards will be based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need. Students must be transferring to one of the following USM –affiliated institutions: Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Frostburg State University , Salisbury State University, Towson State University, Universities of Shady Grove, University of Baltimore, University of Maryland, Baltimore, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP), University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES), University of Maryland University College (UMUC), and University System of Maryland at Hagerstown.

Students must submit the SECU-USM Scholarship Application – available at www.secumd.org/scholarship or the USM’s Financial Aid page at www.usmd.edu/institutions/FinAid/.
The Deadline for submitting the SECU-USM Scholarship Application and all the required items is May 1, 2013.

Rockville Scholarship Foundation is Now Accepting Applications from Rockville Residents

Each year the Rockville Scholarship Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization, provides scholarships to students who reside within the corporate limits of Rockville. Applicants must intend to enroll or continue to enroll in a college or university in fall 2013. Funds for scholarships come from donations from the general public, the City of Rockville, and Montgomery College. The application submission deadline is April 15, 2013. The application is available at http://www.rsfoundation.net/application.html Applications can also be picked up at the College’s Rockville Campus (SB 107).

An awards ceremony is held in June at a meeting of the Rockville Mayor and Council.

Foundation Scholarship Deadline Approaching

The priority deadline to apply for the Montgomery College Foundation Scholarship is June 7, 2011.We strongly encourage all students to apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can apply for financial aid online at www.fafsa.gov . This determines financial need and ensures that awards are distributed to as many students as possible. Applications for the fall semester should be turned in no later than September 5, 2011.
