(Deadlines, General Information) Permanent link

Attendance at a Financial Literacy session is required for a Federal Direct Stafford Loan borrower if you are a new student at Montgomery College (MC) or if you are a first time borrower at MC for the fall 2011.  You must attend a 60 to 75 minute financial literacy session at one of the three campus locations.  Please be on time. The doors will close 5 minutes after the presentation is scheduled to start. To be eligible for the loan you must register for your classes and you must maintain a minimum of 6 credits for the semester.  Please view the dates on the attached form for the 60 to 75 minute session that is convenient for your schedule in September, if you did not attend a session in August. Funds will not disburse to the new student borrower account unless this requirement is met. Please contact Disability Support Services if you need accommodations. Contact the financial aid office if you have questions.

Please look at the financial aid deadline chart for services  that we provide to students based on the date we received your FAFSA. If you have outstanding financial aid requiirements you may view your 2011-2012 Required Documents. Here are some hints on locating the forms you may need to complete your file.

Book Credits for Fall 2011 (August 23, 2011 to September 13, 2011)

The Office of Student Financial Aid will authorize a book credit at MC bookstores for students who have a file approved status. That means you must  have been awarded financial aid already for the fall semester.  We will use the registered bill hours that you have at the close of business on August 22, 2011 to calculate your expected book store dollars available based on your enrollment as on August 22, 2011.
Case study:  Jane is still wait listed for a 3 credit class on August 22, 2011. She has 9 bill hours. Financial aid will authorize her book credit for eligible aid based on 9 bill hours for  ¾ time aid.

The book credits are not additional aid. We divert your expected refund to the bookstore up to a maximum of $ 750.00. There is a minimum of $ 25.00.  You may use the bookstore charge from August 23, 2011 to the close of business on September 13, 2011.
