CONGRESSWOMAN DONNA F. EDWARDS TO HOST FINANCIAL LITERACY FORUM

Congresswoman Donna Edwards is hosting a Financial Literacy Forum on Saturday, January 7, 2012. “A Financial Fresh Start for 2012: Prepare for Your Overall Financial Health and Success” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jericho City of Praise, located at 8501 Jericho City, Drive in Landover.
The Forum will feature workshops on understanding the effective use of credit, detecting fraud and identity theft, legal and financial assistance for homebuyers, and will avail the attendees of an opportunity to meet with lending and servicing institutions for refinancing and home loan modifications. A flyer is attached with more detailed workshop information.

December 16, 2011 Financial Aid Office Closing at Noon

The Office Of Student Financial Aid on all three campuses (Germantown, Rockville and Takoma Park/Silver Spring) will close at noon today, December 16, 2011. The staff will attend a college-wide meeting. We will resume regular office hours on Monday, December 19, 2011. Please remember that the you may contact the office by emaill. We usually respond to your inquiry within 72 hours for most student questions.  Thank you.

January Financial Literacy Information Sessions

Attention Spring 2012 Loan Borrower: Attendance at a Financial Literacy session is required for a Federal Direct Stafford Loan borrower if you are a new student at Montgomery College (MC) or if you are a first time borrower at MC for the spring 2012 term.  You must attend a 90 minute financial literacy session at one of the three campus locations.  Please be on time. The doors will close 5 minutes after the presentation is scheduled to start. To be eligible for the loan you must be registered for your classes and you must maintain a minimum of 6 credits for the semester.  

Please view the dates on the attached form for the 90 minute session that is convenient for your schedule in January,  if you did not attend a previous session in the fall. Funds will not disburse to the new student borrower account unless this requirement is met. Please contact Disability Support Services if you need accommodations. Contact the financial aid office if you have questions.

Fall Only Loans and Loan Form Changes

Student Loans Update: December 2011

The last date for a loan change form to be accepted was Thursday, December 1, 2011 if you wanted to change the loan period.

The last day to submit a fall only loan request is Monday, December 5, 2011. Please see the flyer for details.
