The governance coordinator plays a central role in coordinating and supporting the collegewide participatory governance system. Working under the direction of the chief of staff/chief strategy officer (COS/CSO) in the president’s office, the individual in this full-time role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the College participatory governance system. The role also brings issues of interest to the president and the COS/ CSO regarding the governance system. The role involves researching and analyzing governance-related matters received by the president’s office as well as by the governance councils; investigating situations to provide a clearer understanding of issues; and making recommendations for actions related to the governance system. This individual is expected to represent the governance system; foster an understanding of and support for the participatory governance system's goals; communicate through actions, conversations, written communication and presentations, interact with individuals and groups on all levels; and inform interested and involved parties of matters requiring their attention.
