Salsa Bootcamp NEW
Whip your salsa technique into shape in this one-session intensive. Learn the steps for solo and partner dances, get a sampling of different styles, and drill, drill, drill! All experience levels are welcome.

Hip Hop Dance
Explore hip hop culture through dance. Build a foundation of skill to execute popular dance moves and original choreography. Learn to pop, lock, and break while developing your own sense of creative, urban style. All experience levels welcome. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only.

Introduction to Tap Dance
Learn the basics of tap dance technique as you express your inner rhythms through your feet. Shuffle, flap, and paddle and roll in simple rhythmic combinations using both structure and improvisation. Experience percussive style tap while dancing to Motown, Beatles and Stones, Reggae, and Jazz tunes. Shim-Sham, the National Tap Dance, will also be taught. In the world of video production, sound comes first. A viewer will forgive a shaky camera, but will immediately turn off a video if the sound is bad. In this course, you will learn to use equipment, procedures, and techniques to create quality audio for your smartphone videos. Use Adobe Premiere Pro CC to edit digital videos for artistic, commercial, educational, and personal use. Learn basic editing techniques, use of the title tool, layering videos, mixing sound, moving clips, and exporting your finished product. Learn how to integrate AfterEffects into your digital video editing toolkit. In this intermediate-level course, you will use the interface, explore layering in Compositions, and learn special effects like tracking and blurring. Learn the theory and practice of television studio production. Explore the principles of picture composition, camera movement, studio lighting, audio and control room operation in actual studio productions. Students participate in laboratory exercises and demonstrate proficiency in these exercises. Each student produces programs using available studio resources. Blues Guitar Seminar
Go beyond the basics of guitar playing and learn to play chords and melodies in the genre of traditional blues. Learn 8- and 12-bar harmony, basic finger style, basic rhythm guitar technique, and the pentatonic and blues scale in multiple fretboard positions. Your new blues background will provide you with a foundation in form, control, feel, and harmonies that can be used in any genre of music, like R&B, jazz, country, and rock. Piano: Introductory Group
Music is a universal language sculpted by the compositions of many great minds. Learning piano introduces you to the elements of this language, such as melody, harmony, and rhythm. In this class, you will learn the basics of piano in a group setting. Using a fundamentals approach, we will play and harmonize melodies from the beginning. No previous experience needed. Stand-up Comedy: Introduction
Ever wanted to give stand-up comedy a try? Learn how to use your own life experiences and unique sense of humor to create an original 3-minute comedy routine to perform in front of a live audience. The course will cover joke- and comedy-writing basics, stage techniques, and comedic persona—all in a fun, interactive, and supportive atmosphere. Comedy Writing
Develop your comedy writing toolkit while defining your voice and exploring comedic styles. Each semester, we will cover a different aspect of comedy writing.

Topic: Sketch Comedy Writing
Learn the fundamental elements needed to write your own comedy sketch like those seen on SNL and late-night talk shows. Working with the instructor and collaborating with your fellow students, we will develop your comedy premise, character, and dialogue. By the end of the course you will have a funny comedy sketch we will perform in a live reading. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only.
