Marsha Carter McLean (Professor and Coordinator of Early Childhood Education, Takoma Park/Silver Spring) earned her B.A. in child development from the University of North Carolina (Charlotte), her M.A. in teaching from Hampton University, and her Ed.D. in higher education administration (with an emphasis on community college leadership) from Morgan State University. She comes to Montgomery College after serving as associate professor and chair of the Human Services and Paraprofessionals in Education program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia. During her tenure there, she participated in community outreach efforts and helped to create online learning curricula for the Virginia Community College System. Currently working on her first book, Dr. Carter McLean has secured state and federal grants totaling $20 million and has published articles in assessment practices, early childhood coaching, and early literacy. Beginning Fall Semester, 2015.
