Montgomery College’s History Division is located within
our Humanities Department. With our outstanding faculty, we offer an
array of courses spanning the globe from the beginning of the human race
to the present day. We believe that teaching not only takes place in
the classroom, but across the college and in the community at large.
Therefore we teach students to use history as a means to inform their
engagement with vital issues surrounding us in society. To that end,
our students are encouraged to explore community and civic engagement,
study abroad, work within our Global Humanities Institute, intern at the
Smithsonian Institute or Library of Congress through our Paul Peck
Keeping with the mission of Montgomery College, our faculty strives to
change the lives of our students, enrich the community, and hold
ourselves accountable through our commitment to high academic standards.
Whether our students are earning an Associates Degree, transferring to a
four year college or university, or immediately entering the job force,
studying history at Montgomery College provides them with the necessary
knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a 21st century world.
