After almost fifteen years of service in various leadership roles at Georgetown University and two years as a part-time counselor and advisor at Prince George’s Community College, she became so enamored with the community college philosophy that she decided to make the transition from the four-year university environment. She also served as an integral part of the Rockville Administrative Team and chaired the Campus Leaders Group and the Student Development Directors’ meetings. She served in this capacity until August 2004, when her functional title was changed to Special Assistant to the Dean. In this role, she assisted the dean in managing the Student Development unit and co-chaired the Campus Leaders’ Group. In July 2005, Dr. Brown was appointed as Associate Dean of Student Development at the Rockville Campus. In August 2006, Dr. Brown became the Dean of Student Development, a title she held until July 2012 when she was appointed to her current role as the Collegewide Dean for Student Success and Rockville Student Services.
Dr. Brown earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Trinity College and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University. Her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration, with a concentration in Community College Leadership, was awarded from Morgan State University, in Baltimore, Maryland.
