About this online class: "In Their Shoes"
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), as amended by the ADA Amendment Act (ADAAA), prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with a disability. Did you know that college students with disabilities are less likely to complete their degree programs than students without disabilites. According to the World Health Survey 785 million 15.6% persons 15 years and older live with a disability. Whether we realize it or not, we all encounter individuals with disabilities in our daily lives. Some of these disabilities will be readily apparent and many others will be much less visible. This online training, entitled "In Their Shoes", utilizes a hands-on, interactive format so that you may catch a glimpse of what it's really like to have functional limitations that substantially alter a major life activity.
