As a result of policies that require higher education institutions to receive approval to offer classes to students outside their home state, Montgomery College has received exemptions from 35 states. This means students in those states can take MC classes online. There are eight states that would require Montgomery College to pay a fee to be able to offer classes to students in those states. To be in proper compliance, MC will block registrations from students in the following states: Alaska, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota and Utah. Questions should be directed to the Office of Distance Education and Learning Technologies at 240-567-6000
