The Natural and Applied Sciences, Business, Management, and Information Sciences unit (NASBMIS) is housed on the east side of the Takoma Park/ Silver Spring campus of Montgomery College. The NASBMIS unit consists of four departments, 50 full time faculty and staff and numerous part-time instructors that are dedicated to serving over 8000 students a semester. We enthusiastically put the success of our students first! The unit is largely supportive in mission, providing students with general education opportunities and core courses required for Allied Health, Business and Computer related programs.
The NASBMIS unit is growing, especially in the physical science and mathematics areas, reflecting continued student interest in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics fields. Over the last year, we crafted corporate partnerships with regional businesses like Accenture and Discovery Communications and strengthened previously established relationships with organizations like Silver Spring Green. The unit is also home to the Montgomery College Planetarium. Our community partnership with MCPS and other schools from the metropolitan region continues through their use of the planetarium to educate our future students on the solar system and beyond. We present monthly planetarium shows for the general public because we believe that learning should be a lifelong experience.
The NASBMIS is experiencing a wonderful growth and we invite you to take full advantage of our top-notch academic
and cultural offerings. Thanks for stopping by our website.
