Beginning in the Fall Semester of 2013, AELP Courses will no longer receive institutional* credit. 

  *Institutional credit means that the course grade is calculated into the GPA.
AELP courses have never counted toward a degree and have transferred to only a small number of colleges and universities.

1. Complete an application for admission to Montgomery College online or in the Admissions office at the campus you wish to attend.

2. After admissions, students who are nonnative speakers of American English should register for and take the ESL Accuplacer test in the Assessment Center.

***Before you begin your AELP program, you may repeat the ESL placement test multiple times, but not during the same testing period (October-January, March-May, June-August).

 

3. Attend the IMAP (Advising and Placement session) to receive your placement scores. Information about the time and location of these sessions will be given to you when you take the test. You may also want to meet with a counselor individually.

4. Register for your AELP courses online or in the Admissions Office at your campus.
