MC Takoma Park Basketball Intramural Rules-Spring 2010

  • Team rosters must have minimum of 6 players.
  • Must have two team members check in 5mins before the game starts, or it is a forfeit.
  • Must have on athletic gear.  No jeans, hard sole shoes, Nike boots, etc.
  • Anyone dismissed from a game for fighting will be dismissed for the rest of the season, and may face disciplinary action from the Student Development office.  Anyone who has to be separated before a fight begins (no punches thrown), will be suspended for remainder of existing game, and the next scheduled game.
  • Bad and disruptive behavior may cause for automatic suspension for the rest of the season. 
  • Profanity will not be tolerated.  May be accessed a 1 game suspension or more.
  • Complaining to the officials will not be tolerated.  Their will be a warning system in place.  One warning will be accessed if needed.  Second warning will be suspension from current game being played.
  • Two technical fouls in one game will be an automatic ejection, and 2 game suspensions.  Ejection includes dismissal from the gym.
  • Their will be a regular season, and a playoff with the top 4 teams making the playoffs.  Playoffs will consist of a semi-final round, and the championship game.
  • Each team can start the game with 4 players for the first 5 minutes of the game.  After the first 5 minutes you must have 5 players on the court, or it will be a forfeit.
  • Two half’s, with 20 minutes running clock.  Clock stops with 2mins left in each half.  
  • Five minute half time.
  • A player fouls out with 5 fouls. 
  • Drug and alcohol free environment.  
  • There will be one date (3/8) to add and drop valid players.

  • Game will be played with 5 active players from each team.
  • Must have two team members check in 5mins before the game starts, or it is a forfeit.
  • Must have on athletic gear.  No jeans, hard sole shoes, Nike boots, no cleats, etc.
  • Anyone dismissed from a game for fighting will be dismissed for the rest of the season, and may face disciplinary action from the Student Development office. Anyone who has to be separated before a fight begins (no punches thrown), will be suspended for remainder of existing game, and the next scheduled game.
  • Soccer official can eject a player from the game at anytime. If you are ejected from a game, you will not be able to play the next two games.
  • Their will be a regular season, and a playoff with the top 4 teams making the playoffs.  Playoffs will consist of a semi-final round, and the championship game.
  • Each team can start the game with 4 players for the first 5 minutes of the game.  After the first 5 minutes you must have 5 players on the court, or it will be a forfeit.
  • 2 half’s, with 25 minutes running clock.  If score tied at the end of the second half it will be a tie (no tie breaker)
  • 5 minute half time.
  • Play off the walls.  The ball may be struck in such a way that it contacts one or more walls.  Without penalty or stoppage.
  • Contact rules.  Standard contact rules generally applies (i.e. ball contact must be made during a play on the ball, no charging with hands or elbows, no charging from behind, no sliding tackles, etc).  If this rule is continuously broken it may result in game suspensions.
  • No Offside.
