You can earn credit by examination for courses listed in the Course Catalog with the identification of "CE" after the course title.
If the course is available for credit by examination at a particular campus, the course will be designated by "CE-G" for Germantown, "CE-R" for Rockville, and "CE-T" for Takoma Park/Silver Spring.
How to Sign-up:
Contact the Department Chair on the campus where the credit by examination option is available for more information and to get necessary approval(s).
The fee for credit by examination is 40 percent of the in-county tuition rate.
This fee is charged based on the number of credit hours the course has, and must be paid before taking the exam.
After the exam has been completed, a grade of P (pass with C or higher) or U (unsatisfactory) is added to the form by the department and is submitted to the Office of Admissions and Records at the campus where the test was taken.
Once Credit by Exam grades have been processed by Montgomery College, you will be notified through MC email.
