2015-2016 Council Leadership:
Carla Naranjo- GT Campus Council Chair- Carla is an Associate Professor of Spanish and has been teaching at MC since 2006. In addition to teaching all levels of Spanish, she also serves as the World Languages coordinator and the Digital Learning Liaison (DLL) on the GT campus. In this capacity she has developed a language program that offers different levels of Arabic, Chinese, French and Spanish on the GT campus. Being the solo full time faculty member in World Languages, she collaborates a great deal with our dedicated adjunct faculty members. She is serving on the council because she believes that our constituency groups can make their voices heard by asking a lot of questions and encouraging participation in the process of governance.
Nancy Nyland--GT Campus Council Vice-Chair-- Nancy Nyland has been a reference librarian in the Montgomery College Libraries for 17 years. She served in the Staff Senate and as the Vice Chair of the Academic Services Council. Ms. Nyland hopes to promote policies that will help employees feel confident that they can contribute their innovative ideas freely in governance councils and other public MC forums.
Jennifer Haydel--GT Campus Council Secretary--Jennifer Haydel has been teaching Political Science on the Germantown campus since 2008. She believes strongly in interdisciplinary education, and has formally co-taught with seven faculty members from six different disciplines since arriving at MC. These collaborations have been possible because of the openness and collegiality of the Germantown campus. She is serving on the Germantown Campus Council in order to play a role in supporting this campus environment.
