What are the tuition rates and fees at Montgomery College?
Montgomery College has different tuition rates depending on your residency classification: Montgomery County residents, Maryland state residents, and out-of-state residents. Montgomery County resident tuition rates are based on the current Credit and Fee Schedule for the Academic Year and are subject to change by action of the Board of Trustees. Montgomery County residents pay the lowest rate, while Maryland residents usually pay double that per credit, with the exception of those students enrolled in one of the Maryland Healthcare Manpower Shortage Programs, and out-of-state residents pay three times that amount per credit. There are applicable student fees as well. Current tuition rates can be obtained online through at the Montgomery College’s Homepage.
Enrolled Students Outside of Montgomery County
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program may or may not be included under Designated Statewide Programs at the time of your enrollment. If the program is listed you will be able to request the in-county tuition rate by completing the Maryland Healthcare Manpower Shortage Form. Please check this website to see if you are eligible for this benefit.

There are a number of students who may be eligible for full or partial tuition waivers at Montgomery College. For example, did you know that if you are a Maryland resident age 60 or older at the time of registration you can enjoy a full tuition waiver? (Note that the waiver is not available during regular registration, so you’ll have to check the Schedule of Classes for when the waiver goes into effect). Also disabled retirees also have their tuition waived, but they too still have to pay all the required student fees. This waiver is given on a space-available basis, and eligible students must submit a Disability Retirement Tuition Waiver Certification form. Members of the Maryland National Guard for a minimum 24-month enlistment are eligible for a 50-percent tuition waiver. National Guard members can register during regular registration. For the most up to date information on eligibility requirements for tuition waivers, please go to Montgomery College College’s website.
