Summer Programs

The ACES summer program is one of the most important components of the ACES program. Every student accepted into ACES their sophomore year will have the opportunity to spend 10 days on one of three Montgomery College Campuses (Rockville, Germantown and Takoma Park) during the summer prior to their junior year. The summer program is designed to give students a glimpse of what it is like to attend classes in a college facility, build rapport with their fellow classmates and ACES staff members as well as participate in academic and social enrichment activities.

Over the course of the summer, ACES scholars engage in a full menu of college preparatory activities such as academic enrichment coursework, college tours, workshops, team building, and motivational speakers. The academic enrichment courses will focus on increasing literacy and math skills. These courses are designed to increase their skills so that they have a head start in school for the following school year. During the program, students are encouraged to adopt effective study habits that will follow them throughout their high school career and beyond.

For MCPS rising seniors, the summer bridge program encourages career exploration and discovery through interaction with Montgomery County working professionals.
