Election Guide for Students

Voting can be done April 2-8 and can be done from anywhere with internet access by visiting the website at the bottom of this page and logging in with your MyMC ID and password. Please read the information below to find out more about nominations and elections before beginning the nominations process. The following video explains how to nominate and vote in the collegewide Participatory Governance System.

Important Information about Elections

  • Elections will be held April 2-8. Students will also be able to nominate on computers that will be available during most lunch hours (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) during the nomination period. The computers are located in the area outside of the Bookstore in the HS building on the Germantown Campus, in the Campus Center lobby on the Rockville Campus, in the atrium of the Student Center on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, and in room 412 in the Gaithersburg Training Center.
  • You will get to vote for students on your campus to represent you on the collegewide Student Council, your respective Campus Council as well as student representatives for the four Functional Councils.
  • Remember that your “campus” is based on the campus at which you originally applied to MC, not necessarily where you have the most classes this semester, and that it cannot be changed.
  • If you are not ready to submit your ballot, press "Cancel" at the bottom of the ballot, press "Logout" at the top, or X out of the browser at the top right of the screen. Your votes will not be saved and you will have to reenter any names you had previously selected.
  • When you are ready to submit your votes, select "Confirm" at the bottom of the page. Once you have confirmed your vote, you will not be able to vote again; however, you can log back in at any time to view your voting receipt.
  • Results of the election will be announced by April 12th.
  • All council members will attend a training event on Thursday, May 23rd.
  • The Chair of the Student Council will receive a stipend of equal value to that of faculty, staff, and administrators serving as chairs of other councils!
  •  Start Voting!
