WHAT IS THE ATI TEAS?

The ATI TEAS is an exam that assesses basic academic knowledge in reading, math, science, and English and language usage.

WHAT WILL I NEED IN ORDER TO REGISTER FOR THE ATI TEAS?
  • An account created with Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI): www.atitesting.com.
  • Credit or debit card
  • An email address to complete the online registration.
WHAT IS THE TEST FORMAT?

The ATI TEAS is a multiple-choice computer-based exam.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I TAKE THE ATI TEAS?

At Montgomery College, students can take the exam twice in a twelve-months period. After a student has taken the ATI TEAS for the first time, s/he must wait 30 days before the second attempt. In addition, effective July 1, 2016, it is recommended that any student who wants retest a second time schedule an appointment with the TEAS Coordinator for remediation. 

WHO SHOULD REGISTER TO TAKE THE ATI TEAS?

All students who are interested in applying to any of the following health sciences programs at Montgomery College should register to take the ATI TEAS:

Diagnostic Medical Sonography         Nursing

Radiologic Technology                       Physical Therapy Assistant

                  

WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY SCORES?


Students receive their ATI TEAS score report immediately after they complete the exam (computer test only).

WHAT ARE THE SCORE REQUIREMENTS FOR MY PROGRAM?

The minimum recommended score requirements for ALL programs that require the ATI TEAS are: Reading 70%; Adjusted Individual Total Score: 66%. Applicants who exceed minimum requirements are more competitive.

IF I DON'T MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR MY PROGRAM BECAUSE I SCORED TOO LOW IN ONE AREA, DO I HAVE TO RETAKE ALL SECTIONS OF THE EXAM AGAIN?

Yes. Also, scores from different ATI TEAS exams cannot be combined.

WHEN SHOULD I TAKE THE TEAS?

Students are encouraged to take the ATI TEAS at least three months prior to the application deadline for their program of interest. 

IF I HAVE TAKEN THE TEAS MORE THAN ONCE, WHICH SCORE REPORT DO I SUBMIT?

Students may submit the ATI TEAS score report that shows that they met the requirements for their program of interest and is the most competitive.

WHAT STUDY MATERIALS ARE AVAILABLE TO PREPARE FOR THE ATI TEAS?

Students may purchase the "ATI TEAS Study Manual,Version 6" and online practice tests from www.atitesting.com. The study manual is also available at all Montgomery College's main bookstores.

HOW LONG ARE ATI TEAS SCORES VALID?

ATI TEAS scores are valid for twenty-four (24) months after the exam was taken.

ARE PREP COURSES AVAILABLE?

CAN I USE MY ATI TEAS SCORES TO APPLY TO PROGRAMS AT OTHER INSTITUTIONS?

Students may send their ATI TEAS score/ATI TEAS transcripts to multiple institutions. For more information, contact ATI www.atitesting.com. However, it is advisable that students directly contact the other institutions to verify their acceptance policy regarding the ATI TEAS exam.

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I SPEND PREPARING FOR THE ATI TEAS?

The amount of time needed to prepare for the ATI TEAS varies. All students are encouraged to give themselves enough time to engage in a comprehensive review of the content and develop good testing techniques.

AM I REQUIRED TO TAKE THE ATI TEAS IF I ALREADY HAVE A DEGREE?

Yes.

ARE THERE TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES?

Yes. To obtain testing accommodations, students must have a counselor from Montgomery College’s Disability Support Services provide verification of the type of accommodations that the student is entitled to. CAN THE ATI TEAS BE SUBSTITUTED WITH ANOTHER EXAM (e.g. GRE, SAT, ACT, HESI, NLN, GMAT, GED, or LSAT)?
