EMSI's occupation data are based on EMSI's industry data and regional staffing patterns taken from the Occupational Employment Statistics program (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Wage information is partially derived from the American Community Survey. This report also uses state data from the following agencies: Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Office of Labor Market Analysis and Information.

 

Definitions:

Change- the number of new jobs expected to be created in an occupation over a given timeframe.  The number of new jobs is a measure of occupational growth.

Openings - the total number of new and replacement jobs expected in an occupation over a given timeframe.

Annual Openings - the sum of new and replacement jobs in the occupation over the entire selected timeframe, divided by the number of years in the timeframe
