Melissa GregoryMelissa Gregory, Chief Enrollment Services and Financial Aid Officer, has worked as a financial aid administrator for over 32 year in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Ms. Gregory is active in financial aid legislative issues and testified on both the federal and state level supporting financial aid application simplification and increased access to college for all students.  She conducts financial aid training with local, state, and national associations and speaks frequently to community groups, high schools, and middle schools concerning the financial aid application process and aid programs.  She is a graduate of Montgomery College, with a bachelor’s and masters’ degrees from George Washington University.  She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Education with a concentration in Community College Leadership at Morgan State University. 

 

Office of the Collegewide Dean of Student Access and Germantown Student Services

Karen RoseberryDr. Karen Roseberry, Collegewide Dean of Student Access and Germantown Student Services, has worked in student services at community colleges for the past 30 years.  At Montgomery College, Dr. Roseberry has served as the dean of student development at the Germantown campus and as chair of many collegewide committees and task groups. In previous capacities, she worked as the acting dean of student development and the coordinator of counseling and enrollment services and at Northern Virginia Community College; as an administrator in student services at Hartnell College; and as a counselor at Rancho Santiago Community College.  She began her studies at a community college and was a traditional transfer student who obtained her bachelor’s degree. She earned a Master of Education in Educational Psychology, a Master of Business Administration in Management and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education. 

 

Office of the Collegewide Dean of Student Engagement and Takoma Park/Silver Spring Student Services

Clemmie SolomonDr. Clemmie Solomon, Collegewide Dean of Student Engagement and Takoma Park/Silver Spring Student Services, has an extensive background in higher education, including more than 20 years of experience in counseling and student development as an administrator. At Montgomery College, Dr. Solomon has served as dean of student development at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus and chaired college committees and task groups. In previous capacities, he has worked as the vice president for student affairs at the University of the District of Columbia, dean of student life at the Community College of Philadelphia and the director of counseling and student development center at Bowie State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Social Foundations from the University of Maryland. He has also earned a M.S. in Counselor Education from the University of Dayton and a B.S. in History Education from Central State University. 

 

Office of the Collegewide Dean of Student Success and Rockville Student Services

Tonya MasonDr. Tonya Mason, Collegewide Dean of Student Success and Rockville Student Services, brings over 20 years of experience in student services to her role as the Interim Collegewide Dean for Student Success and Rockville Student Services at Montgomery College. For 13 years she has served the College directly: as a counselor and department chair of counseling; as an administrative associate in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Services; and most recently as the associate dean of student services at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus. Notable accomplishments in these roles have included developing more than 70 transfer articulation agreements with four-year institutions and other community partners, creating a successful athletic eligibility certification process, facilitating student athlete success initiatives, mediating student issues, and managing relevant academic area reviews and outcomes assessment processes. In addition, she has participated in many campus and collegewide committees and work groups. Among them are the Closing the Achievement Gap Task Group, Advising Steering Committee, Middle States Self-Study Team, Presidential Search Advisory Committee, and Transfer Scholarship Coordinating Committee. These and other contributions earned Dr. Mason the Faculty Outstanding Service Award in 2011.

 

Prior to joining Montgomery College, Dr. Mason served in various capacities at the University of Maryland, the University of Pennsylvania, and Towson University. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, as well as master of arts and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland

Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Services

Monica BrownDr. Monica R.M. Brown, Associate Senior Vice President for Student Services, began her career in higher education over 24 years ago. At Montgomery College, Dr. Brown has served as the dean, acting dean and associate dean of student development, special assistant to the dean, and the campus & community coordinator at the Rockville Campus. She has also chaired many college committees and task groups. She has worked in various leadership roles at Georgetown University and as a part-time counselor and advisor at Prince George’s Community College. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Trinity College, and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration, with a concentration in Community College Leadership from Morgan State Universit

 

Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Services

Kima Earl, Executive Associate II, will manage the daily functions for the Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Services, including scheduling, special projects and assignments, and service on committees. Ms. Earl began working at Montgomery College as a student assistant in the Office of the Vice President and Provost on the Germantown Campus. She has advanced her career through a number of positions, including office assistant for the Office of the Instructional Dean of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education, and then administrative aide, and, most recently, as aide to the vice president and provost at Germantown. An active member on many College committees and groups over the years, including Staff Senate and Staff Council, Ms. Earl has demonstrated her support and dedication to the Montgomery College mission and to students, faculty, staff, and administrators. She has received numerous recognitions and team effort awards. Ms. Earl earned a BS in computer information technology from the University of Maryland University College and an AA from Montgomery College.
 

Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Services

Carmen Poston-FarmerCarmen Poston Travis, Student Services Operations Director, has over 18 years of combined professional experience in educational and public institutions committed to academic and vocational preparation. During recent transitions in her role at the College, Mrs. Poston Travis served functionally as the academic and student services specialist within the former Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Services, following her role as planning and curriculum support specialist. Prior to Montgomery College, she served as the internal auditor, a fiscal services coordinator, and assistant business manager (Internship) for the Canton Public School district, serving students K-12, and as the program planning specialist for the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services, serving people with disabilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Alcorn State University and master’s degree in public policy and administration from Jackson State University.
