Polysomnography Certificate Program

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), Version V

All applicants applying to the Polysomography Program are required to take the TEAS as part of the application process.

The TEAS is a computer-based assessment used by the Health Sciences Institute and Center to evaluate the academic preparedness of entry-level health sciences students in reading, math, science, and English and language usage.  There are 170 multiple choice questions. The total testing time is 209 minutes (approximately 3.5 hours).

Reading Comprehension:  58 minutes 42 questions

|    English and Language Usage:  34 minutes 30 questions

Science: 66 minutes 48 questions

|    Math:  51 minutes 30 questions

 Polysomography Program TEAS Test Requirements

The minimum recommended TEAS scores are: 

  • Reading: 70%   
  • Adjusted Individual Total Score: 66%

Applicants who exceed the minimum requirements are more competitive.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to engage in a comprehensive review of the content covered on the TEAS. There are many materials and resources that applicants can use to prepare. The TEAS, Version V study manual provides instructional material, practice problems and two comprehensive practice tests.
