Professional Background
My name is Malgorzata Lasota (also known as Margaret). I have been practicing as a pediatric cardiac sonographer at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington DC, since 1999. I am registered in adult, pediatric and fetal echocardiography. I graduated from Medical School, Poland in 1993 and was interested in specializing in pediatrics. I am a graduate of the Echocardiography and Vascular Program at Montgomery College (1999).

I really enjoy being a pediatric, adult (mostly for adults with congenital heart diseases) and fetal echocardiographer. The studies can be quite challenging and difficult sometimes, especially when imaging complicated congenital diseases. Besides establishing the new diagnoses, I also perform in our lab pre- and post operative evaluations for complex cardiac defects and in-utero studies all requiring the segmental evaluation of the heart. What’s most important and what brings me a lot of satisfaction is helping the patients and their parents by contributing to their diagnoses. I enjoy my family: a wonderful husband and four children, my Mom and Sister (and also our new addition, a little puppy) and all the time that we spend together. I like sports, most of all skiing and hiking, traveling, reading and good music.
