Academic and corporate partnerships, overseen by Dr. Clarice Somersall, Associate Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, keep Montgomery College at the forefront of community colleges which pride themselves on sustaining a culture of inquiry, innovation, and relationship building.
Programs and initiatives include:
- Concurrent Enrollment Programs
The Office of Concurrent Enrollment Programs (CEP) provides opportunities for qualified high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit through one of several dual enrollment programs offered in the high schools and at Montgomery College. In addition, CEP coordinates college readiness testing in high schools throughout the county.
- Gateway to College
The Gateway program is changing lives. Students who had little chance of graduating from high school are earning their diplomas and succeeding in college. They are pursuing four-year degrees and challenging careers. In short, they are reinventing themselves for their future.
- Prep Talk
A PrepTalk report provides lots of information for college planning, testing,and financing, but what our students really need to succeed is a little “prep talk.”
- Career Programs of Study
Career Programs of Study are designed to provide students with the skills necessary to compete in today's technological world. Beginning in high school, Career Programs of Study students enroll in selected, career focused programs that provide college credit when they attend Montgomery College. This allows students to get a head start on their college education. Career Programs of Study enable students to gain hands-on experience, providing them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about career choices.
- Transfer Agreements
A large number of of Montgomery College students will find the opportunity to continue their education at over 380 four-year institutions across the country.
- Scholarship Conference
Montgomery College students can have the opportunity to attend the Scholarship Conferences to visit with representatives from regional colleges and universities and learn about existing MC financial aid as well as transfer scholarships once they complete their associate's
