State of the College 2014

   Dr. DeRionne Pollard, president of Montgomery College, delivered her third annual State of the College address as a virtual conversation on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. The College community had the opportunity to watch the address in person at the Gudelsky Institute for Technical Education, on the web, or on Montgomery College Television - channel 10.

Entitled "What MC Students Need," the State of the College took a close look at new initiative designed to support students, as well as the work that must still be done to ensure students succeed.  

Athenaeum Symposia - Exit 12 Dance Company

Montgomery College's  Frank Islam Athenaeum Symposia series welcomes the Exit 12 Dance Company under the artistic direction of it's creator Roman Baca. A former marine , hIs choreography is  filled with military metaphors that evoke meaningful dialogue.

MC Today:  Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship Awardees

My Duyen "Grace" Le and Trihn Nguyen are Montgomery College's latest students to each be winners of a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, awarded to outstanding community college students with financial need.  The Foundation provides up to $30,000 per year to each of approximately 75 deserving students, selected annually, to complete their bachelor's degrees by transferring to a four-year college or university.

Nguyen and Le, both immigrants from Vietnam, are studying engineering at Montgomery College and plan to complete bachelor's degrees and ultimately Ph.D.s in engineering.
