Confluence returns in 2017 to the Takoma Park / Silver Spring campus of Montgomery College!

Thanks to all who have presented, attended, or otherwise supported our Confluence translation conferences in previous years.

What is Confluence? Confluence is a celebration of International Translation Day bringing together translators, interpreters, educators, and others interested in the field of translation, including its literary, practical, and philosophical dimensions. The conference offers interpretation and translation-focused workshops and presentations, and opportunities for discussion, networking, career development, and celebration.

Friday evening, September 22, 2017: the conference will open with "Translatable," an annual Open Mic event in celebration of International Translation Day, hosted by the DC Area Literary Translators Network.
Saturday, September 23, 2017, morning and afternoon: conference sessions will feature a variety of workshops and presentations on translation, interpretation, and translation studies. The keynote address will begin Saturday at 12:30 pm. The day’s schedule will offer opportunities for informal networking.
